Based on the domestic COVID-19 containment provision and local IELTS test centres situation, decisions have been made in consultation with the British Council to:
· Offer 6 paper based IELTS test dates in October: 10, 15, 17 (newly added), 24, 25 (newly added) and 31 October when all types of IELTS will be made available.
· Celebrate the opening of two newly built Computer Delivered IELTS (CDI) test centres in Hangzhou under Zhejiang Education Examinations Services Centre and Chengdu under the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. In October, 7 CDI test centres (8 test venues) in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing and Chengdu will provide a good number of CDI and CDI for UKVI test sessions over a wide range of dates.
· Continue service provisions of all types of IELTS tests at 84 paper based and computer delivered IELTS test centres in 41 cities across the country, as detailed below:

· For all the test sessions in October highlighted with test venue changes under the Remarks column on the table above, please check the exact information of the test centre on your admission ticket, detailed test arrangements will also be communicated to test takers affected. When tests scheduled in November and December have to be cancelled at test centres detailed under the Remarks column on the table above, full test fees will be refunded to the personal registration accounts of those take takers affected.
· Test takers who have registered for IELTS on 24 October at China Agricultural University, Beijing will take their tests as scheduled at a third party venue off campus. Detailed test arrangements will be communicated to test takers affected. All tests scheduled in November and December at China Agricultural University will be cancelled and full test fees will be refunded to the personal registration accounts of those test takers affected.
· Test takers who have registered for IELTS on 24 and 31 October at Capital Normal University, Beijing will take their tests as scheduled at a third party venue off campus. Detailed test arrangements will be communicated to test takers affected. All tests scheduled in November and December at Capital Normal University will be cancelled and full test fees will be refunded to the personal registration accounts of those test takers affected.
· Hubei University is still unable to run IELTS. Test takers who have registered for IELTS in October, November and December at Hubei University will take their tests as scheduled at Hubei Shuiguohu No. 2 Middle School. Detailed test arrangements will be communicated to test takers affected. Hubei Shuiguohu No. 2 Middle School is also open for new registrations from October and onwards.
· Test takers who have registered for IELTS on 24 and 31 October at Shanghai International Studies University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics,Shanghai Institute of Technology, East China Normal University and Donghua University will take their tests as scheduled at a third party venue off campus. Detailed test arrangements will be communicated to test takers affected. All tests scheduled in November and December at the above mentioned test centres will be cancelled and full test fees will be refunded to the personal registration accounts of those test takers affected.
· The following two test centres are unable to run IELTS and it has therefore been decided to cancel all IELTS tests scheduled from October to December 2020 at these test centres. Full test fees will be refunded to the personal registration accounts of those test takers affected:

Zhongshan Polytechnic (Zhongshan, Guangdong Province)
· As required by local education authorities, a few test centre universities require test takers to present nucleic acid test report with a negative result within 7 days from their test date to be admitted into university campus. Please ensure you read the Notice to IELTS Test Takers on Covid-19 Control and Prevention Measures and Notice on IELTS Test Epidemic Prevention and Control Arrangement on IELTS registration website https://ielts.neea.cn/allnews?locale=en_GB and make all the necessary preparations in advance to ensure a smooth journey on the test day.
Depending on the readiness of test centres and market demand, we will adjust IELTS test arrangements accordingly and provide sufficient test sessions and seats to test takers.
